BECCA TESLOW, MA LAC
“Be the change you wish to see in the world."— Mahatma Ghandi
When things change inside you, things change around you. My name is Rebecca (Becca) Teslow, I practice with a humanistic, holistic, person-centered approach, utilizing a blend of evidence-based modalities including modified Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). I tailor my approach to meet each client's unique needs, often incorporating expressive art therapy when clinically appropriate. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) as well and offer this treatment modality when suitable. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a focus in American Sign Language Interpreting from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. Over the past twenty years, I have worked as an interpreter across the country and internationally. My specialization in mental health interpreting ignited a passion for helping those struggling with mental health issues. This experience inspired me to extend my services to a broader audience, providing support to all individuals in need. I believe in creating a compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to explore your feelings and experiences. Life is inevitably full of both pleasure and pain. However, suffering is a choice. If you are ready to work on being the change you wish to see in the world, I would be honored to support you in this endeavor. Together, we can honor and heal your pain, and prepare for and celebrate your future.
